Eek! My first blog post! Getting to know me!

I have been wanting to start a blog for a while, I’ve read (and enjoyed) many, but wondered if there was any point. I mean who wants to read about a stay at home mom with nothing to write about other than life as a mom!

The more blogs I read, the more I thought of the real reason I was apprehensive about writing one, who’d want to read about me. Then the more blogs I read, the more I saw that behind all the funny stories, there was a mummy or a daddy wanting to connect with the world, and I wanted a piece of that action too!

So here is a bit about me, I live in Aberdeen, I moved here from Yorkshire a year ago for my husbands job. It was a scary, daunting and (at times) lonely thing to do, but it was what was best for my family and I couldn’t be happier. Although I have to say thank goodness for FaceTime as without it I’d struggle being away from my family. I live here with my husband, 3 year old son and 18 month old daughter. My husband is my best friend, we are high school sweethearts and we have been married for the last 5 years. I can’t imagine my life without him. My son and daughter are my life.

Life is pretty colourful at the moment, I am being kept busy that’s for sure! Between preschool, gymnastics class, playgroup and swimming lessons I’m lucky that I have time to got to Zumba twice a week (my fourth love after my son, husband and daughter *in no particular order of course*) I sometimes wish making friends was as easy as it was at school but being thrown into a new community has shown just how hard that is, but I get on with it the best I can.

My husband is about to head off to Qatar for two weeks for work so stick around to find out how we do. It’s a little daunting being so far away from friends and family, more so when my husband is away, but I’ll get through it, I always do.

Hope I haven’t bored you!
